%X This paper presents an application of self-organizing maps for change detection in satellite images. The attention is focused on the challenging of change detection automatic in remote sensing, so in this study a post-classification technique based on Kohonen neural network is presented. A pair of images acquired by the Landsat satellite from different period of time from Paraibuna reservoir at State of São Paulo, Brazil, has been employed. As output of the self-organizing maps, it was obtained a map of colors. The results of change detection have been obtained through the comparison between the map of colors.
